SlimShot Privacy Policy

App ID: com.forgelabs.slimshot • Last updated: June 2026
Your privacy is our core design standard. SlimShot is built on a straightforward principle: your photos never leave your device. All photo analysis, categorization, and memory cleanups happen entirely on-device with zero server uploads, cloud tracking, or mandatory accounts.

1. What We Collect

SlimShot requests only the exact permissions needed to process local files. We do not collect, transmit, or save any personal data on external databases.

  • Photo & media access — Required to read your local gallery index for blurry frames, duplicate sets, burst captures, and screenshots.
  • Storage deletion authorization — Required to delete individual images or folders that you explicitly choose to remove. No action is taken without your direct confirmation.
On-Device Isolation: Photos, thumbnails, metadata, and analysis results are processed entirely in memory on your physical hardware. No file packets are ever transmitted to Forge Labs or any other third party.

We do not collect or access:

  • Your name, address, phone number, or accounts
  • Real-time GPS location parameters
  • Contacts, call logs, or browser records
  • Detailed diagnostic logs or analytics tracker events

No user login or registration is required to operate SlimShot.

2. How We Use Information

Any local processing is performed strictly to power the core helper tools of the application:

  • Sorting your local files to flag blurred results, duplicate series, and screenshot formats.
  • Presenting clear grids so you can manually check items before confirming deletes.
  • Removing the items you select permanently from local file sectors.

We do not compile profiling datasets, run marketing targeting lists, or share usage statistics.

3. Google AdMob Third-Party

SlimShot serves occasional advertisements through Google AdMob. AdMob operations are governed by Google LLC's privacy guidelines.

To deliver and attribute ad campaigns, the AdMob SDK may record:

  • Mobile Advertising ID (Android GAID)
  • Device details (hardware model, Android OS build, resolution scale)
  • Network parameters (IP address, data connection speeds)
  • Interactive clicks or impressions recorded within ad blocks

We configure AdMob with enhanced protection values:

  • Max ad ratings are capped to: PG (Parental Guidance).
  • tagForUnderAgeOfConsent is enabled, restricting Google from serving personalized ads or tracking profiling parameters on users who may be under the age of digital consent.

For extensive details, please review Google's official privacy pages:

You can reset your ad identifiers or turn off ad personalization in your settings: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset/Opt-Out.

4. Data Storage & Security

Since all analysis operates locally, we do not run remote cloud databases to store files. General parameters (like custom filter ranges) are saved locally within standard secure app storage partitions and are purged when the app is uninstalled.

Deleted files are moved to the system Recycle Bin or permanently wiped based on your specific Android version settings. We recommend checking your Android Gallery Trash folder if you need to recover any file.

We never capture, cache, or maintain backup logs of your gallery media.

5. Children's Privacy

SlimShot is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly compile personal identifiers from children under the age of 13.

As detailed in Section 3, our AdMob integration utilizes strict age-rating filters and flags to prevent interest-based user profiles or tracking of children.

If you believe a child has shared information through the app in conflict with these standards, contact us immediately.

6. Your Rights

Because SlimShot does not record or maintain your media or personal details on any external database, typical GDPR, UK-GDPR, or CCPA rights (such as data portability or erasure requests) are met by default — we have no data to compile, review, or delete.

You can adjust settings directly on your device:

  • Disable permissions — Revoke gallery or storage read/write parameters under Settings → Apps → SlimShot.
  • Reset Ad IDs — Turn off personalized targeting metrics inside Google Ads settings.
  • Uninstall — Purges all temporary local cache and app configurations from your memory.
