Your privacy matters. Origami Flight Lab stores all game progress locally on your device. We do not operate remote databases, require accounts, or collect personal information. The only external services used are Google AdMob (advertising) and Google Play Billing (in-app purchases), both of which are governed by Google's own privacy practices.

1. What We Collect

Origami Flight Lab does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All game state — progress, coins, stars, achievements, settings — is saved only to your device's local storage via Android's SharedPreferences system.

The following device capabilities are used solely to operate the game:

  • Accelerometer / motion sensor — Used to detect phone tilt for optional tilt-based flight control. Sensor readings are processed in real time and never stored or transmitted.
  • Vibration — Used for short haptic feedback on events (collisions, achievements). No data is collected.
  • Internet access — Required for Google AdMob to serve ads and for Google Play Billing to process purchases. No game data is transmitted over this connection.

We do not collect:

  • Your name, email address, or any account information
  • Location data
  • Contacts or call logs
  • Photos, camera, or microphone access
  • Crash reports or analytics (Firebase is not currently active)

No user login or registration is required to play Origami Flight Lab.

2. Local Data Storage

The following data is saved to your device's local storage only:

  • Game progress (current level, coins, stars, prestige count)
  • Unlocked planes and upgrades
  • Achievement status and leaderboard scores
  • Daily streak, daily challenge state, and mission progress
  • Audio preferences (music/SFX mute state)
  • Personal best flight recordings (ghost replay data)
On-Device Only: None of the above data is ever uploaded to Forge Studios or any third-party server. It exists solely on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.

3. Google AdMob Third-Party

Origami Flight Lab displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob (interstitial and rewarded video formats). AdMob is operated by Google LLC and is subject to Google's own privacy practices.

To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect and use:

  • Advertising identifiers (Android Advertising ID / GAID)
  • Device information (model, OS version, screen size)
  • General network information (IP address, connection type)
  • Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

We have configured AdMob with the following settings:

  • Maximum ad content rating: G (General Audiences)
  • tagForChildDirectedTreatment is enabled, applying COPPA-compliant handling to all ad requests.

Users who purchase the "Remove Ads" in-app product will no longer receive any AdMob ads.

4. In-App Purchases Third-Party

Origami Flight Lab offers optional in-app purchases (coins, stars, plane unlocks, ad removal) processed entirely through Google Play Billing. Forge Studios does not handle, store, or have access to any payment card information or billing details.

All purchase transactions are governed by Google Play's terms of service and privacy policy. For refund requests, please use Google Play's standard refund process.

5. Children's Privacy

Origami Flight Lab is a family-friendly game with an expected IARC rating of Everyone (E). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13.

As noted in Section 3, we have enabled AdMob's tagForChildDirectedTreatment flag, which applies additional restrictions to ad serving in compliance with COPPA and similar regulations worldwide.

6. Your Rights

Because Origami Flight Lab does not collect or store personal data on external servers, most data-subject rights are satisfied automatically — there is no data held by us to access, correct, or delete.

You may at any time:

  • Clear game data — Via Settings → Apps → Origami Flight Lab → Clear Data (this resets all progress permanently).
  • Opt out of personalised ads — Via your device's Google ad settings.
  • Uninstall the app — Removes all locally stored game data from your device.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the revised version will be published at this URL and the "Last Updated" date will be changed. Continued use of the app after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
